Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Verity app ("the app"). By downloading or using Verity, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your licence

Verity grants you a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Media Services / App Store terms. Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are also subject to Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement.

2. Your content is yours

Everything you record and write in Verity belongs to you. It is stored on your device (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud). We claim no ownership over your entries and have no access to them. You are responsible for your own content and for keeping your device secure. Verity offers free export of your full journal at any time, so your data is never held hostage.

3. Subscriptions

Some features are offered through an optional subscription, Verity Plus, sold via the Apple App Store. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled in your Apple account settings. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. The core daily journaling experience — recording, transcription, shaping, the journal, search, streak, prompts, and export — is free.

4. Acceptable use

Verity is a personal tool for your own reflection. Please use it lawfully. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app in ways that would harm others or violate applicable law.

5. Not medical or professional advice

Verity is a journaling and reflection tool. It is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service, and its reflections and prompts are not professional advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or a support line in your area.

6. As‑is, and limitation of liability

Verity is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Because your data lives on your device, keeping backups (for example, via iCloud or your own exports) is your responsibility.

7. Changes

These Terms may be updated from time to time; the current version will always be posted here with its "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
