Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

The short version: Verity collects nothing about you. Your entries, audio, and photos live on your device. Transcription and AI run on your device. There is no account, no Verity server, no analytics, and no advertising. The only time anything leaves your device is optional iCloud sync — into your own private database — and only if you turn it on.

This policy explains how Verity ("the app", "we") handles your information. It is written to be read, and it reflects how the app is actually built. If anything here is unclear, email oscar.orozco.dev@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. Verity has no account system, no login, and no server that receives your data. We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage analytics, or the contents of your journal.

2. What you create, and where it lives

Everything you create in Verity is stored locally on your device:

Because this data is on your device, it is protected by your device passcode and Apple's on‑device encryption. You may also enable an in‑app lock (Face ID / passcode) in Settings.

3. On‑device processing

Speech‑to‑text and the AI that shapes your entries, writes your weekly recap, and answers questions about your journal all run entirely on your device, using Apple's on‑device Speech and Foundation Models frameworks. Your words are never sent to a model in the cloud, and never sent to us. The speech and AI models themselves are downloaded and managed by iOS, not by Verity.

4. Optional features that use Apple services

Some features you can turn on use Apple's own services, on your terms. In every case, there is no Verity server in between.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Verity Plus is an optional subscription sold through the Apple App Store using Apple's in‑app purchase system. Apple handles the entire transaction. We never receive or store your name, payment card, or billing details — we only receive an anonymous confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active. Purchases and billing are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the App Store terms.

6. No tracking, no advertising, no third parties

Verity contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third‑party tracking. We do not sell or share your information — there is nothing to sell, because we never collect it. We do not use your entries to train any model.

7. Keeping and deleting your data

You are in control. You can edit or delete any entry at any time, and deleting an entry also removes its kept audio and photo. You can export your entire journal — as readable text or complete JSON — from Settings, at any time, for free, including after a subscription ends. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device; if you enabled iCloud sync, you can remove the data from iCloud in iOS Settings.

8. Children

Verity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because Verity collects no personal information at all, this is inherent to how the app works.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Because the app's design is privacy‑first by architecture, any change that would affect how your data is handled would be significant and clearly described.
